How to Fix a Political System on the Brink...
This was on the website for the presidential candidate I'm starting to like a lot, but I much of it I would've said myself as it expresses my thoughts in a more clear and organized manner than I would've... and without my typical emotional ranting. lol I put it in this note to further share my own beliefs on these issues, btw, NOT as an ad for the candidate, who I only named at the bottom of this.
"I know I am not alone when I say that the existing two-party political system in America is proving to be ineffective and divisive to this nation and its people. Basically, many of the positions of the current major-party Presidential candidates target symptoms to our nation's problems, but do not get at the roots of the problem at hand. Furthermore, this nation is polarized by the two-party system. There is great animosity between the parties, and that is why I am entering this race as an Independent.
As this nation continues a steady migration to the far left, the center will actually appear to be ultra-conservative and far-right. I know there are many in this nation that share my views, who are tired of the partisan gamesmanship and want to see a new approach to tackling problems that never seem to get solved. The recent uprising of the grassroots to shut down the deeply flawed immigration bill is an example of just how fed up folks throughout the political spectrum are with their representatives in Washington.
Ultimately, this is not about who has the most money in their war chest - this is about the future of our nation. That is far more important than which fat-cat has raised the most millions in a given three-month period. The American people are smart enough to understand that the money chase takes a backseat to the question of which way our nation will head in the next four years. A lot is at stake, and I look forward to being part of this debate.
It is important to remember that I don’t approach these issues from a partisan perspective. For example, I will propose “Communities of Interest” (COIs), using collaborative technologies to facilitate solutions in key objective areas. As President, I will be open to a good idea no matter where it comes from, as long as it works to solve the problem at hand without engaging in partisan divisiveness."
